Is Your Fear Holding You Back?

Hi, Mary Lelle here. I’m in…I was going to say Madison, Wisconsin, but I’m in Los Angeles, California. I’m in the new Whole Foods store downtown in LA not too far from my hotel. I’m coming here for some food because those of you that know me, know I like to eat pretty well. And those of you that also know me, maybe even a little bit better, know that for years I was afraid to speak in public.

Now here I am, in the middle of the store talking, people are going by and it was probably just a few short months ago I would have panicked. If someone walked by I would have lost my train of thought – there goes someone now. And it doesn’t frighten me anymore. It kind of gives me a little bit of exhilaration.

Now what in your life have you been afraid to do? What’s holding you back? I know you’ve got dreams and aspirations and they’re not coming true because there are things in your life that you’re afraid to do. I encourage you to step forth and step into your power and do those things because those are the tools that will get you what you want in life, where you want to be in life.

Now, I’m in LA because I’m taking Roger Love’s 3-day conference, seminar on speaking in public called, “Voice for Success.” He teaches people, me included, how to get more melody in my voice and tonality and to share my personality. You know, I didn’t like the sound of my voice on my voice mail – I couldn’t stand it. Now, finally, I can hear myself coming out. You know, we don’t always know who we are and sometimes we need someone to help guide us and mentor us along the way and that’s what Roger’s going to do. He is the number one voice coach for the stars here and I’m so grateful that I’ll be able to learn from him that he’s my mentor.

So, for you, again I encourage you to find out what your passions are, write down what you’re fears are and go for it. If you have something in your life that you say, I will never do that, notice the energy behind that, there’s a lot of energy. You’re really working hard at not doing that thing. That probably means you’re supposed to do that thing.

Take it from me, you don’t have to wait years or decades to finally do what your heart is aspired to do.

So have a great day. I’m going to sign off here at Whole Foods. I’ve got to get some shopping and get some good food in my belly. I’ll catch you later!
